Looking for an apartment

One thing I have found is that you look closely at the structure and deferred maintenance of the building. I have an apartment building in Texas that is now being rehabbed. We had to fix the piers and the roof as well as the electrical service because of the older construction. This total cost will impact the revenue stream we had planned on receiving. Just like a single family house, it is important to have the structural features of the property looked at before buying the CAP rate.
